Celebrate National Cookie Day! (Ages 6-11)
Wednesday, December 4 • 6:00 p.m.
Celebrate National Cookie Day with us as we have fun decorating cookies we can munch on. (R)
Make & Take Christmas Craft (Ages 4 and up)
Wednesday, December 11 • 6:00 p.m.
There will be all things Christmas as this program: Christmas art projects, Christmas music, and a Christmas treat. (R)
Burrito Books (Ages 9 and up)
Thursday, December 12 • 5:00 p.m.
Come in and create your own burrito book where you can fill it with pictures, stories, memories and anything else you can think of. (R)
Annual American Girl Tea (Ages 6 and up)
Saturday, December 14 • 11:00 a.m.
Bring your favorite American Girl doll or another doll, dress up if you want, and join us for our annual tea. Crafts, books, treats and holiday fun are all part of this special program. (R)
LOTERIA/Mexican Bingo (Ages 3-9)
Wednesday, December 18 • 6:00 p.m.
Loteria is a game of chance. Join us to play, you will practice a lot of vocabulary and win prizes. (R)
Chat and Chew Book Club (Ages 8-11 or Grades 3-5)
Wednesday, January 15 • 4:00 p.m.
Join us for a lively discussion about a great book. There will also be an activity and a snack based on the story. All who register can pick up the book that we will be discussing at the Youth Services Reference Desk beginning December 16. (R)
Nature Club (Ages 6 and up)
Saturdays, January 18 and February 8 • 11:00 a.m.
Join us for nature facts, crafts and fun in this eco-friendly program. January's theme: Polar Bears. February's theme: Wolves of North America. (R)
Christine Thornton Presents "Pokemon" (Ages 7 and up)
Saturday, January 18 • 1:00 p.m.
Art teacher Christine Thornton is back to show you how to draw your favorite Pokemon characters. A hands-on program. Meeting Room (R)
WINTER FAMILY FUN FEST (All Ages)
January 20 through February 28
Visit the Youth Reference Desk to receive a list of fun family activities to do together this winter, and pick up your special winter treat. Each child will receive a book and prize when 10 of the activities from the list have been completed. Return your activities' sheet to the Youth Services Reference Desk by February 28 to receive prizes. Activities are to be done on your own with your family. (R)
Best Friends Forever Cross-Stitch Program (Ages 8-12)
Monday, January 20 • 1:00 p.m.
Learn to cross-stitch a 'best friends' sewing project. All materials are provided. (R)
Snow Stories (Ages 3-6)
Wednesday, January 22 • 6:00 p.m.
Join us for this winter program full of snow stories and a winter art project. (R)
Going to the Circus! (Ages 5-8)
Thursday, January 23 • 6:00 p.m.
Come along and clown with us as we read some silly circus books and make a fun circus craft! (R)
Molly/Holly Collie Valentine Program (Ages 5-9)
Thursday, January 30 • 5:00 p.m.
Molly and Holly collie dogs present this 'doggy' Valentine program. The dogs are owned by librarian, Deb Allen, and will be on hand to lend their help reading stories, making a Valentine craft and enjoying treats. Join the fun! (R)
Lego Club (Ages 5 and up)
Fridays, January 31 and February 28 • 3:45 p.m.
Use your imagination to build your own creation. We will display your project in the Youth Services Department. Register for each event separately. (R)
Groundhog Day (Ages 3-6)
Saturday, February 1 • 10:30 a.m.
Will there be 6 more weeks of winter or will we see an early spring? While we can't predict if the groundhog will see his shadow or not we can still have fun reading some books and doing a craft for Groundhog's Day. (R)
Happy Hearts Storytime (Ages 3-6)
Wednesday, February 5 • 6:00 p.m.
Bring your little one in to this program with Valentine stories and a Valentine art project. (R)
Bilingual Board Games (Ages 5 and up)
Thursday, February 6 • 5:30 p.m.
Join us to play board games, chat, and meet new friends. We will provide snacks and drinks. (R)
Celebrate Mo Willems' Birthday! (Ages 3-6)
Tuesday, February 11 • 4:30 p.m.
Help us celebrate Mo Willems' birthday. Mo Willems is the author and creator of some beloved characters like, Pigeon, Duckling, Knuffle Bunny, Elephant, Piggie and many more. Celebrate these wonderful characters by enjoying the books and have fun making a craft. (R)
Friendship Fun Storytime (Ages 5-8)

Come and celebrate your friendships the day before Valentine's Day. We'll be reading some sweet stories on friendship and making a craft to give to your best friend! (R)
Preschool Fair for Parents/Guardians

Our annual Preschool Fair is back with free information from local preschools and daycares. Parents, drop-in to ask questions and get information you need. Meeting Room.
Toddler Drive-In Movie Time (Ages 2-4)
Monday, February 17 • 10:30 a.m.
Help your toddler make their own special car that they can sit in. Then stay for a short movie! (R)
Science Club- The Marshmallow Challenge! (Ages 8 and up)
Thursday, February 20 • 5:00 p.m.
Come and take the challenge! We will have everything that you will need, just be ready to try something really different! (R)
Paws to Read (Ages 6 and up)
Saturday, February 22 • 11:00 a.m.
Read and bond with a great dog. Our newest Paws to Read team is back! Officer Terry, K-9 Star, and K-9 Nadja will be here to listen patiently. Your child can read aloud in a positive, nonthreatening, and fun environment. Many children in the Round Lake Area have already benefited from Paws to Read, which has helped to improve their reading skills and increase their confidence. Books will be provided, or you can bring your own. (R)
Early Learning Club (Ages 3-5 with Parent/Guardian)
Saturday, February 22 • 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Parent and child must attend together. This United Way Success by Six curriculum covers colors, shapes, counting, and the alphabet. Each parent and child will go home with an array of workbooks, games, and reading materials that reinforce the skills covered in the prep course. Presented in English and Spanish. (R)
