Bilingual Interlibrary Circulation Clerk

The Round Lake Area Public Library District is looking for a Bilingual Interlibrary Circulation Clerk with excellent customer service skills.  The Bilingual Interlibrary Circulation Clerk assists patrons with borrowing library materials using several databases including World Share, processes passport applications and other library services as outlined in the job description.  The ideal candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Office applications and be able to provide excellent customer service skills.  This position includes day, evening and weekend hours.  The ability to speak Spanish is required.  A high school diploma or GED is required. 
Hours: 19 hours per week, including early morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours.  Schedule subject to change from week to week.
Salary: $9.37 - $14.07 hourly (depending on qualifications)

Library Assistant II – Youth Services

The Round Lake Area Public Library is looking for an enthusiastic, creative team player with excellent communication skills and dedication to customer service, to fill a full-time position at the library. The person filling this position will provide reference, reader’s advisory, and program services to preschool and school age children, young teens, and their parents. The qualified candidate is required to show proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English and Spanish.

SCHEDULE:  Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, including early morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours.  Schedule subject to change.  

SALARY RANGE:  $17.95 - $26.92 hourly (depending on qualifications); Salary Category 6. 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR APPOINTMENT:  

  • A Bachelor’s degree, LTA certificate or comparable education is required.
  • Five years previous work experience with children or early childhood education knowledge required; public library experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of children’s literature including current authors and children’s classics, and trends in Youth services.
  • Proficiency with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet browsers.
