Librarian I- Youth Services (English/Spanish bilingual)
The Round Lake Area Public Library seeks an enthusiastic, creative team player with excellent communications skills and dedication to customer service to fill a full time position at the library. The person filling this position will provide reference and reader's advisory services to preschool and school age children, young teens and their parents. Other activities include planning and preparing year 'round programs, teaching patrons how to use library resources and access electronic resources, and participating in collection development activities. We are looking for a candidate who has excellent familiarity with children's books and authors and has the ability to relay that information to meet the needs of our patrons.
MLIS degree preferred, but will consider MLIS student with comparable experience. Candidate should have one to three years previous work experience with children or early education knowledge, preferably in a public library environment. Candidate is required to be bilingual in English and Spanish for this position.
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including early morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours. Schedule subject to change.
Salary: $17.26-$25.88 hourly, depending on qualifications.
